About me

Inspiration

My specific interest is in the area where culture and nature meet. Landscapes and cityscapes have a powerful effect on us and the forms of nature - its structures, patterns and processes, and the way man-made structures are often informed by these, have always fascinated me

I am interested in places where natural and man-made worlds rub shoulders - roadside verges, canals, harbours and of course, parks and gardens. I enjoy the visual tension between order and chaos and the chance events that occur in green spaces. I believe that most of us need some `green relief' in a structured and technological world.

As a qualified teacher, I am aware of the positive impact a well designed space can have on children and I enjoy working with them and for them on outdoor projects of all kinds.
